My Fitness Journey
I’m Dusu, also known as "Big Dus" in the fitness world—a bodybuilder and fitness professional based in the DMV area. As a proud Black African woman, my journey into fitness was never just about aesthetics; it was about reclaiming my health, building resilience, and proving to myself that true strength comes from within.
Growing up, I faced many of the same challenges that Black women often encounter when it comes to fitness—societal expectations, limited representation, and the struggle to find spaces that truly support our well-being. But I refused to let those obstacles define me. I embraced bodybuilding and weight training, discovering not only physical power but also mental clarity and confidence. Over the years, through discipline, self-discovery, and sheer determination, I have transformed my body and my mindset, proving that fitness is a journey of self-love and empowerment.

As a fitness professional, I use my platform to share daily fitness content, encouraging others to embrace their own strength—both in and out of the gym. Whether it’s through intense lifting sessions, discussions on mental wellness, or practical health advice, my goal is to show that fitness is more than just a physical transformation; it’s a lifestyle rooted in strength, resilience, and personal growth.
Beyond fitness, I’m also a health tech enthusiast, blending my love for innovation with my passion for wellness. I believe in the power of technology to revolutionize health and fitness, and I’m always looking for ways to optimize training, recovery, and overall well-being through data-driven approaches.
